Objects and pictures that begin with phonic sound b eg. bottle, bat, ball, bed etc; an alphabet card on which B b is written , sand paper letters b, Phonic story with many words starting with phonic sound b.

Methodology

Show the alphabet cards to the children or write B b on the board . Tell the sound. Say “ B says ‘b’. The children will respect the sound. Show the objects from the magic box. Let the children guess and then reinforce by saying ‘b’ ‘b’ .... bat. Ask them for other words that start with the words in Hindi / Gujrati, don’t discourage them. Reinforce by telling the phonic story. Give the sand paper letters b for tracing.

Objective / Purpose

(1) Associating the letter b with the sound so that whenever the child hears that sound in a word she can put b there.

(2) Linking things around her and wondering what sound they begin with Phonic story –

BUNTY’S BIRTHDAY GIFT

Bunty was very happy today. After 2 days it was his birthday. his mother had promised to take him to the market today, for shopping.

They reached a big toy shop. bunty was surprised to see such beautiful & colorful toys. There was a red ball and blue bat. There was a small dog that barked. There was black bear and buffalo . there was a small dall with a bottle in the hand. But Bunty’s mother did not buy anything. She wanted something special. they came back home. Bunty was little sad. They ate bread & butter and then Bunty went to sleep.

He got up in the morning & was surprised. There was a beautiful car shaped bed in his room. And on it was a colorful blanket with ‘bat-man’s’ picture. Bunty was very happy & he hugged his mother.
